Warren A. Rowland
Warren A. Rowland, of McCall, passed away peacefully with his family at his side on November 20, 2014, after living a life of tremendous dignity even while dealing with many health challenges.
A memorial service was held Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2014, at the McCall Community Congregational Church.
Warren was born Nov. 28, 1946, Thanksgiving Day, to Emory Rowland and Vera Yoakum Rowland. He was a life-long resident of McCall who loved its beauty and all it had to offer.
His roots ran deep. His father’s family moved to McCall when there were three cabins on the lake in the late 1800’. His mother’s family homesteaded in New Meadows and established Yoakum Hot Springs, now known as Zims.
Throughout his life, Warren always loved to mushroom, huckleberry, hike in the woods, and camp with the family. He loved music and singing, traveling, visiting new places and exploring.
Family times were very important, enjoying grandchildren in their activities even though it often meant spending hours on those hard bleachers!
Warren was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend.
He is survived by his wife, Pat, of nearly 50 years, daughters Tami (Rick) Bunch and Traci (Travis) Rose; four grandchildren: Adam Bunch, Alex Bunch, Taylor Garber, Caitlin Garber (Joey Salas) and one great granddaughter, Lyric Garber-Salas; a sister, Shirley (Dick) Wilkerson, a brother, Dewey Rowland, nieces, nephews and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
Warren, we will always be comforted by the memory of your wonderful smile.
