Scott Leslie Onaindia
Age 56, of Cascade, Idaho, passed away on February 8th, 2025, after a tragic snowmobile accident.
Scott was born on November 20th, 1968, in Cascade, Idaho, to Marilyn and Joseph Onaindia. He was raised in Cascade alongside his two siblings, Rick Onaindia and Angelita Bramble.
From an early age, Scott had a passion for snowmobiles, dirtbikes, fishing, and football. He graduated from Cascade High School in 1987 and later moved to Boise to attend Boise State University, where he earned a certificate in Diesel Mechanics. Scott began his mechanics career at Bob Rice Ford, in Boise. Scott worked for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for 28 years as a Field Technician, a role he cherished deeply. In addition to his career, Scott helped his son, Michael, build and grow Onaindia Landscapes and Dirtwork, a business that serves the Valley County community.
In 1996, Scott met his beloved wife, Becky, while she was working at a local restaurant, Chef’s Hut. Their love blossomed, and they were married for 29 wonderful years. He has four children: Amanda Hill (34), Brittani Onaindia (27), Tiffani Onaindia (26), and Michael Onaindia (23).
As a father, Scott dedicated much of his time to supporting his children in sports, and cherishing family moments spent fishing and camping. He never missed a game, always there to cheer them on and offer his unwavering support from the sidelines. He found immense joy in watching his kids pursue their passions. Scott was also known for spending countless hours working on his snowmobiles, tinkering in his shop, and working alongside his son Michael.
When he wasn’t working, Scott could be found snowmobiling, wood cutting, and fishing with his son and close friends, relishing in the great outdoors. He was also a constant source of help to others, whether it was plowing driveways, fixing cars, or delivering firewood—Scott’s generous spirit left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
Scott is preceded in death by his father, Joseph Onaindia, and his grandmother, Edna Calkins. He is survived by his wife, Becky; his daughters, Amanda, Brittani, and Tiffani; his son, Michael; his grandchildren, Brayden, Beau, and Remi; his mother, Marilyn Onaindia; and his siblings, Rick Onaindia and Angelita Bramble.
