Roger Franklin Edwards was born, to Julie (Mitchell) and Frank Edwards, on October 9, 1945 in Colchester, Essex, England.
He went home to be with the Lord, at the age of 72, on January 30, 2018. He was raised in Donnelly and spent a lot of his childhood with his grandparents, as his Grandma Ora’s favorite. He graduated from McCall-Donnelly High School in 1963. He went on to earn his bachelor degree from Boise State College.
As a young child he spent hours working on his grandfather’s ranch with his brother Billy. Early in his life he worked for the hotshot crew, fighting forest fires. He spent most of his life dealing in real estate, buying and selling property. Roger was always looking for an adventure and enjoyed a wide variety of activities. He loved fishing with his Grandpa Charlie, snow and water skiing, swimming, riding motorcycles, snowmobiling, and just driving around exploring, and he taught his little sister how to do all of these things. He loved target shooting and would often get into competitions with his dad over who was the best shot. He always had a joke to tell and was the first to roar with a hearty laugh. He loved trivia and had a mind like a steel trap, remembering nursery rhymes from when he was young and singing them to his grandchildren, nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He had a big heart and was always willing to give you his coat and lend you a few bucks.
Roger is survived by his mother, Julie Harris of McCall, his three sisters: Dawn Neumann of Toledo, Wash., Alexandra Edwards of Boise and Margaux Crockett of Donnelly, his daughter Christina Stamper of Ulman, Missouri; five grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, February 7, 2018 in the Donnelly Bible Church, 159 FW Gestrin St., Donnelly, Idaho 83615 Burial will immediately follow in Margaret Cemetery, Cascade, Idaho.
