Katherine Luella Shane Reid

June 13, 1929 – March 23, 2019

Born in Longview, Washington to Francis and Hardie Shane. Later moved to Emmett, Idaho. Kit graduated from Emmett High School and attended University of Idaho. She met Harvey Reid of Emmett and later married. Following her graduation, they moved to Bartlesville, Oklahoma where she continued her schooling at Oklahoma State University. She taught high school Journalism in American Falls, Idaho, and New Meadows, Idaho where she taught at New Meadows High School.

Kit volunteered at McPaws Animal Shelter where she really enjoyed working with the cats and dogs. Also, McPaws Thrift Store.

The family would like to give special thanks to: Brian and Wendy Ransom for all their help around Kits home and for their friendship to Kit; Jane for going far and beyond helping with Aunt Kits needs, friendship, and anything that needed to be done until her final days.  Joy, Candace, Pat, for all their help and her Lifelong friend Sachi.  Special thanks to you McCall Rehabilitation and Care Center for all their help.

Katherine is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Harvey Reid and her brother Richard Shane. Survived by her brothers William Shane of Lewiston, Idaho, Edwin Shane of McAllen, Texas, nieces Tracy King (Jeff) Brenda Shane, Barb Sparks of Spokane, Washington Sheryl Shane Schmauder (Don) of Ritzville, Washington and many great and great-great nieces and nephews all of Spokane, Washington.

Memorial and Burial Services will be held June 8, 2019 in McCall Cemetery, at 2 p.m. in McCall Idaho.
