Joseph "Joe" Edward Kent

Joseph Edward Kent (Joe), 85, of Riggins, Idaho passed away at St Luke’s Hospital in McCall, Idaho on February 7, 2022 from a long-term Illness.

He was born and raised in the “Bitterroot” Hamilton, Montana. Son of Samuel Edward Kent (Ed) and Mae Wolfenbarger on January 24, 1937. He attended schools in the Hamilton area. After school he was drafted into the U.S. Army. He worked as a Mill Hand at The Conner Sawmill in Conner, MT. He worked there for several years. He also worked as a ranch hand in the Woodside area.  He loved to work on TV’S, radio’s and any electronics he could get along with. He loved the CB radios as well. On December 28, 1962 he married Sharon Junke in Missoula. To this union they have three daughters, Karen, Laurie Ann, and Kathy. After their children were raised they later moved to the Riggins, Idaho area for 30+ years.

Joe is survived by his wife Sharon of McCall, ID; daughters Karen, Kathy and several grandchildren; his sisters Sandy Pierce (Lee) of Evanston, WY, Sheryll (Patty) Tom Nichol of Alberton, MT Carol Kent of Missoula, MT and brother Jackie Hanson; along with several nieces, nephews and his dear friend Jim Carlson of Riggins.

Joe was preceded in death by his daughter Laurie Ann, parents, grandparents, brothers Eldon, Wayne Kent and Lawrence Hanson, sisters Pauline Bacon, Joy DuMontier, Sheila Phillips, Donna Hanson and Katherine Kent and nephews John and Ricky Bacon.

His wishes were to be cremated and put with his daughter, Laurie Ann at the Riverview Cemetery in Hamilton, MT.   Memorial service will be held in Hamilton with Military Honors this spring.
