After retirement, Jack and Gail moved to Donnelly. They were very active in the Donnelly Bible Church where they helped build the new church. Jack was also a longstanding member of the American Legion (60 years) where he served as CFO and Chaplain.
Jack and Gail Summers met during grade school in Cascade, married November 16, 1940 and had 54 years together. They had one child, Diane (Dee) born in 1949. After Gail passed away in 1994, Jack and Thelma Matthews met on a church bus trip where they began their courtship and married in 1995.
